Layton Marathon Details

Awards

Finisher Medals for Both Half and Full Marathon Distances, Top 3 Overall Custom Trophies, Top 3 Age Groups Custom Medal. No age group medals will be mailed after the race. Though we only give awards for the top 3 we suggest that if you are one of the top 4 you stay around for the Awards Ceremony in case a racer is disqualified or has been pulled to the overall finisher. Last year we had two 4th Place Finishers that actually came in 3rd when the results were finalized.

Prize Money

The Layton Marathon has added Prize Money to the overall finishers. As the race grows so will the purse for the finishers.

1st Place Male and Female	$250*
2nd Place Male and Female	$150*
3rd Place Male and Female	$100*

*We will not mail prize money after the race to those that won it. Top finishers must be at the award ceremony to receive their prize money.

Bag Drop

We have a bag drop available for the start of the Full and Half Marathon. Look for the Truck marked for bag drop. We recommend that you put your clothes in the race bag and put your bib number on it. Those clearly marked will be placed in order and be at the finish line for you when you get there. Aid Station clothing drop is a secondary option. If you would like to strip your clothes along the course we ask that you do so at one of the aid stations. We will pickup these clothes as well and bring them to the finish line. Most likely these clothes will not be there until closer to 11:00AM. We strongly recommend to put your bib number & name on your tags of your clothes. All clothes left behind will be at the finish line until 2:00PM and will be the last thing we load. All clothes, bags, or race day items not picked up by 2:00PM at the race site will be donated to a local thirft store. We recommend wearing low cost items if you do not plan to to pick up your items after the race. We simiply cannot hold on to stinky clothes after 2:00PM on race day.

Age Groups

Youth - 14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+, Clysdale (198lbs or higher), Athena (150lbs or higher)

 

Guinness Records

Many have felt that they cannot break a Guinness World Record for a Marathon. Last year we had a group of 5 men break a Guinness World Record by doing it being linked together (3:01:34). Some records are silly like Fastest Marathon in a Wedding Dress (4:11:01) or Fastest Marathon in a Suit (3:24:46). Many records are obtainable by many racers here in Utah.
